Defying The Second Commandment

The Second Commandment is clearly described in the following verses:

Exodus 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

Exodus 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD Yahuwah thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

Why? When Yahuwah told the gods in Genesis 1, "let us make man in our image, after our likeness", He expected them to place their life giving presence at the core of every human being. The same image and likeness that He gave them when they were created. The gods should align themselves with Yahuwah, so that the humans they created would have the same alignment and perfection. They should take good care of their creation to maintain their fedility to Yahuwah's perfection. It came to pass that humans came to be but the perfect alignment with Yahuwah did not happen as expected. Satan and his host of gods began to think that they were not suppose to take good care of their creation. Their creation should serve them, not the other way around. That was the start of their rebellion against Yahuwah. This rebellion became the nature and character of the humans they created.

So, Yahuwah created Adam in His image, after His likeness in the garden east of Eden. Yahuwah's spirits of fire (angels) ministered on to him to maintain his alignment with Yahuwah's perfection. Eve had the same perfection. Satan did not like Adam to have better perfection than him. Satan went to Eve and made her think that she was not god, and that she had to eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil so she would become like the gods in Chapter 1. So, instead of Eve being a model to the gods, Satan made her think that she should look at the gods as model for her to emulate. Adam and Eve lost their perfection and became like Satan and his gods as desired.

When we worship non-living idols, we think we are not gods, like what Eve thought, and desire to be like the idols that we worship. We reject the source of life within us and allow lifelessness to take over our being. And so the following happens:

Ecclesiastes 12:6 Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.

Ecclesiastes 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Ecclesiastes 12:8 Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity.

Everytime your are tempted to bow or kneel before anybody or anything, remember the image and likeness of Yahuwah within you.
