Accept Fully The God In You |
When we open the Bible and go to the following verse we will see how the Serpent tempted Eve to make her lesser than the God that created her: Genesis 3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. The Serpent was making an attempt to make Eve think that she was not god. The Serpent wanted her to contradict the words of the the Father in the following verses: Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. By virtue of the above verses, Eve was already god at creation. However, she ate the forbidden fruit affirming her belief that she was not god, and consequently lost her godliness by believing that she did not posses it. The above technique was used against our Saviour in the desert: Matthew 4:3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. Like what he did to Eve, the Serpent wanted make our Saviour think contrary to what the Father said: Matthew 3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. So, the Father said "This is my beloved Son", the Devil said "If you are, turn these stones to bread." If our Saviour turned those stones to bread, that would confirm His contradiction of His Father's words, just like what Eve did. However, the Devil failed. This is the same technique used in the time of Eve, in the time of our Saviour, and in our time at present. Unfortunately, the world follows what Eve did, instead of our Saviour. It is very clear that God put His image and likeness at the core of our being when He created us. Unfortunately, we have developed the tradition of rejecting and drawing away from that image and likeness. So, by drawing away from the source of life we go back to the dust where we came from. The next time someone tells you that it is a sin to desire to be like god, remember the words of our Saviour: John 10:34 Let us developed the habit of thinking and doing what our Creator wants, not the contrary of it. |
