Bible Scholars differ in their opinion about the immortality of the Soul. Some say the Bible does not say the Soul survives after the flesh body dies. On the other hand, some say the Soul is immortal and moves on after the death of the flesh body according to the Bible. This is correct: 1 Samuel 28:15 Now Samuel said to Saul, "Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?" And Saul answered, "I am deeply distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God has departed from me and does not answer me anymore, neither by prophets nor by dreams. Therefore I have called you, that you may reveal to me what I should do." In this verse King Saul was talking to the soul of Samuel who died and was already buried. This was made possible by the assistance of a medium. Yahuwah commanded Israel not to do this kind of activity: Leviticus 20:6 And the person who turns to mediums and familiar spirits, to prostitute himself with them, I will set My face against that person and cut him off from his people. And so King Saul was delivered to the hands of his enemies, the Philistines. So, the belief that the soul survives after the flesh body dies is in the Bible, but Yahuwah God does not want us to call on them for assistance or guidance. The point, however, is that the soul is immortal like the God who caused it to exist. In other words, nobody really dies, only the flesh body goes back to the dust where it came from: Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Where does the soul go after death on earth? It spends time in the healing energy of the spiritual realm, then goes back to be born again, refreshed and renewed, ready to face the consequences of its sin. This cycle will continue until the soul attains perfection: Matthew 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. That is the ultimate desire and goal of the soul—perfection. That is perfect unity of man with his creator. Not all of us can achieve perfection on judgment day, but we must do our best to walk in the shadow of the Son of God until that day comes: Colossians 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Colossians 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. On judgment day, the Son of God will pass judgment the way He told Moses: Exodus 33:19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of Amen. |
