Some preachers say that the pronunciation of the Father's name does not matter. What really matters, according to them, is knowing the spelling in Hebrew. Yes, we need to know the spelling in Hebrew so we know the meaning and I have explained it thoroughly in an earlier presentation: "The Meaning Of The Name Of The Father." However, it is not good preaching that just because you do not know how to pronounce the name you say it is not important. Telling people that the pronunciation is not important is not good preaching, because it is important to the owner of the name, the Father in heaven. What would you say when you pray, spell His name? You may wonder why I keep on repeating the importance of the name of the Father. The reason is that in our world today it is easy to forget and ignore the name because the religion that is supposed to remind us is the one making us forget. Baal is the god of the Canaanites and the Pheonicians. The Phoenicians called him "Baal Shamen" meaning "Lord of the Heavens." During the time of the Prophet Jeremiah, false prophets led people to forget the name Yahuwah for Baal. When the Hebrew Scriptures were translated into the Bible of today, the name Yahuwah which appeared more than 6,000 times, have all been replaced by the Lord. So, the tradition of forgetting the name of Yahuwah for Baal continued in the English Bibles and the preaching of today. Consequently, you and I have been led into defying the the 3rd Commandment: Exodus 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of Forgetting the name is taking it vain. Mispronouncing the name is taking it in vain. Exodus 3:15 And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, He says, Yahuwah is His name for ever. He did not authorize any one to change that to Jehova or Lord. Changing His name is defying His will and not helping the faithful to be saved: Joel 2:32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of |
