About 1,500 years ago the concept of reincarnation was rejected because it was believed to contradict the doctrine of bodily resurrection and undermine the need for the Son of God's redemptive sacrifices. On the contrary, however, unbelief in reincarnation underestimates the power of God to bring the dead back to life, and bring to doubt God's patient and forgiving nature. Without reincarnation those who die now will not have the chance to relearn perfection until our Saviour comes again to judge the living and the dead. Matthew 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. God knows it is hard to attain perfection in one lifetime. That is why we have been reborn numerous times for thousands of years now. That is how merciful and patient the God of the Bible is. So, what does the Bible say about reincarnation? Matthew 11:14 And if you are willing to receive it, he is Elijah who is to come. Our Saviour is talking about John the Baptist who was prophesied to come before Him: Malachi 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of The Elijah that we are talking about was a perfect being in a previous life on earth as he did not physically die but ascended to heaven before his student Elisha. What I mean is that Elijah was perfectly fit to be in heaven but he came back for a very important task—to get the way ready for the coming of the Son of God. Matthew 11:14 explicitly says reincarnation is true. What about us? What is the reason of our reincarnation. The reason is the perfection required by Matthew 5:48. We are given the chance to do what we failed to do, and undo what we did wrong. John 3:3 If you still find it hard to believe in reincanation, the research reports of Dr. Ian Stevenson may change your mind. One thing that is very obvious about reincarnation is the healing effect of the spiritual realm on the soul. The physical injury of the soul is healed leaving birthmarks in the present life. For those of us who believe in reincarnation we have something left to do. We need to understand the truth about bad Karma, and do everything we can to modulate its consequence in the present life. Karma is another principle that is related to reincarnation: Matthew 5:38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: We are all facing the consequences of our deeds and failures in the previous lifetimes. Let us modulate the consequence by walking in the shadow of our Saviour to get ourselves ready for His second coming: Colossians 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Matthew 5:38 Colossians 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of We have: The Ten Commandment in the book of Exodus; ordinances and statutes in the books of Leviticus and Deuteronomy to guide us as we tread the narrow way to life and avoid the wide gate to destruction: Matthew 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Remember our Saviour's words as written: Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. So, while we wait for the coming of our Saviour let us get our souls ready by doing His Father's will. |
