Karma

In my Bible Study 23, I talked about reincarnation and I mentioned another related principle called karma. Karma is an infallible justice system and it is in the Bible. In the Old Testament:

Job 4:8 Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same.

In the New Testament:

Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

I wondered when I was a child what have I done to deserve being born poor, sickly and unlucky? My situation made sense to me when I learned about reincarnation and karma. Yes, karma can be carried over to the next lifetime. My situation when I was young told me I did not do well in my previous life. Before we go on, let's pray for guidance. Let's sing the Lord's Prayer.

We heard stories of succesful people who were born in poverty. They persevered through the suffering and attained better lives like Abraham Lincoln; J.K. Rowling, author of "Harry Potter"; Leonardo Di Caprio, star of "Titanic"; Andrew Carnegie, Steel magnate; Ralph Lauren; to name a few. Their stories tell us that after they paid off their karmic due, they start experiencing the best in life. Some of them accelerate their perfection by philantrophic work.

However, there are people, too, who remained unfortunate all their lives. That only means their suffering is not enough to pay off their bad deeds in the past. Maybe the next life will be better. However, maybe we can do something to make the shadow of bad karma less darker in the present lifetime.

Let us obey commandments 6 to 10 to avoid incurring new bad karma. As we discussed in Bible Study 23, let us walk in the shadow of our Saviour before He comes again to judge the living and the dead. Let us love Yahuwah with all our heart, mind, soul and strength as outlined in commandments 1 to 4.

We can also erase bad karma by forgiveness:

Mark 11:25 And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.

We can also pay off our karmic debt before it is due by fasting:

Mark 9:29 So He said to them, "This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting."

By fasting, we are voluntarily suffering the consequence of our sin before it comes back to us.

What we have discussed portrays the forgiving and patient nature of Yahuwa, God our Father.

Ezekiel 33:19 But when the wicked turns from his wickedness and does what is lawful and right, he shall live because of it.

If someone tells you salvation is by faith alone, tell him faith is confirmed not only by words but also by deeds.
