Contradictory Bible Verse Acts 2:21 and Matthew 7:21 |
|
Let us deal with one particular contradiction between two verses in the Bible: Acts 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall
call on the name of Compare this verse to: Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, This is another Satanic technique of confusing our god given mind power to make it work against us when the time comes as written in: Joel 2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the
moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of Now let us take a closer look at the verses in questiion to see if they are really contradictory but this time let us show another verse from the book of Joel: Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Looking at the verses tells us that Acts 2:21 is a direct quotation from Joel 2:32. We know that the phrase "the Lord" in Joel 2:32 refers to the the name of the Father Yahuwah. That means Matthew 7:21 does not contradict Acts 2:21, because the word "Lord" there was translated from the Greek word "κύριος" meaning Sir, Master or Reverend. The Greek word "κύριος" is just an expression of respect, addressing someone with a high rank in the government, military or addressing somebody who is an official of the church with reverence. If our beloved Saviour said: "Not every one that calls on my name Yahuswah shall enter the kingdom of heaven," that would be a contradiction of Acts 2:21, because the name of the Father is in His name. The word "Lord" in Matthew 7:21 is just a title, while "the Lord" in Acts 2:21 refers to the name of the Father Yahuwah. So, in case of a dreadful event, call on the name Yahuwah, not "the Lord." |
