Knowing Good And Evil

A lot of people wonder why would Yahuwah punish Adam and Eve for merely knowing good and evil. This question arises from the belief that they did not know good and evil before they ate the forbidden fruit. Wrong. Adam and Eve were already aware of all the good things around them in Eden, for example their immortality and everything they needed in order to live. They were also made aware of the evil of death if they ate the forbidden fruit, as Yahuwah warned them. There seems to be a contextual difference between "knowing" before they ate the fruit and "knowing" after they ate it. Yes, there is a big difference in the Hebrew language.

Genesis 3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing (יָדַע) good and evil.

The word "knowing" in our English Bibles was translated from the Hebrew word "יָדַע" pronounced "yada." However, when we dive deeper into the Hebrew word "yada.", using the online Bible Concordance, we learn that "yada." can also mean "admit", "acknowledge", or "confess."

So, the Serpent was really saying this:

Genesis 3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing admitting, acknowleging, confessing (יָדַע) good and evil.

The serpent was referring to the gods who went with him as he was driven out of heaven.

There are two kinds of gods: 1) the angels who stayed in heaven by admitting, acknowledging, and confessing only good but not evil; 2) the angels who admit, acknowledge, and confess good and evil, and were driven out of heaven:

Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

As I said, Adam and Eve already knew good and evil, including the evil of death that would result from eating the forbidden fruit, as warned by Yahuwah. However, eating the forbidden fruit against the will of Yahuwah means, they admit, acknowledge, and confess evil like the angels who were cast out with Satan from heaven.

Now that we understand the different contextual meanings of the Hebrew word "yada", there is no more wondering why Yahuwah punished Adam and Eve. He did that because they admitted, acknowledged, and confessed evil by eating the fruit, instead of denying and rejecting it.

That is the greatest problem in our world today. We accept both good and evil. Many even say that one can only know good by knowing evil. No wonder why we are sill here, not in heaven.
